CUTTING AND FOLDING
Cut Ribbon and Tape Tabs
All ribbon and tapes can be cut or cut and folded to various configurations. The cutting may be angle or straight cut, cold or fuse cut to prevent raveling. For cut and folded tabs, a plasticized adhesive back-coating is applied which is non-tacky, and seals the folded ends when heat is applied during the folding process.

All narrow fabrics in any width may be cut to any length, and a pressure sensitive tape tip may be applied to either or both cut ends as required.



The various types of cuts and folds available are designated as follows:
  • SC - STRAIGHT CUT cold or fuse cut.
  • SF - SINGLE FOLD at one end, with the folded end sealed with a plasticized adhesive. (The standard underfold is 3/16", but can be made longer on request.)
  • CF - CENTERFOLD in the middle with or without an offset, cold or fuse cut.
  • EF - END FOLD with both ends folded, and the folded ends sealed with a plasticized adhesive. The standard underfold is 3/16", but can be made longer on request.
  • LO - LOOP is a centerfold with the cut ends sealed together with a plasticized adhesive. The looped end is not creased nor sealed and has a soft fold.
  • 3F - TRIPLE FOLD is an end fold that is centerfolded, and may be centered or offset, and the folded ends sealed with a plasticized adhesive. The standard underfold is 3/16", but can be made longer on request.
  • AA - ANGLE/ANGLE has both ends cut at the same angle, usually 45 degrees, any width or length, cold or fuse cut.
  • AS - ANGLE/STRAIGHT is angle cut at any angle at one end, and straight cut at the other end, cold cut only, in any width and length.
  • FT - FISHTAIL cut at one end and straight cut at the other end. Fuse cut only on acetate ribbon.
  • TC - TRAPEZOID CUT with any angle at either end. Cold cut only in any width and length.
